Sometimes it's ok to be the oldest!

I miss living in New Hampshire!! So I wrote this story. (this story is meant for James) I miss one of my Best Friend (James).

Me and James last summer

Best Friends

James Kelly and Jessica Everitt had been best friends since they had been born. Only six weeks apart they grew up together as best friends in New Hampshire. Then one day Jessica (Jess) had to break the news to James.

"I have something to tell you," Jess said to James

" What? Do you want to see the fort I made down by the bank?" James said excitedly

"IammovingtoCalifornia," Jess said in a rush

"What?" James asked confused.

"I am moving to California," She said in a really sad voice.

"When?" James asked quietly

"Next week. We are packing up the house to..." Jess started to tell him and then was interrupted by the hugging and crying of James' little brother and Jessica's little. Jessica's little sister must have just told James' little brother that she was moving. Both James and Jess went over to help them calm down when their mothers called them over.

"James do you want to stay at the Everitt's house to help them pack?" James' mother (Liz) asked him.

"Of course I would!!" He replied excitedly. Both mothers arranged it so that Jess stay at the Kelly's house that night and then in the morning James and Jess would get a ride with James' dad when he left for work.

"Do you want to go see the fort down by the bank?" James asked excitedly "It's one of our last days together!!"

"Of course," Jessica replied "We can make it last till I come back to visit!" James and Jessica started off toward the bank.

"Jess?" James said unsteadily "What if you don't come back for a long time?"

" I just thought about that," Jess said sadly "if I am not back within a year I hope I can come visit as soon as possible."

"I will call you every week and write you too." James said.

"OK and if you don't I will." Jessica said with a smile. As the day wore on James and Jess had the best time together, better than any time before. That night James' little brother went with Jessica's mother and little sister to the Everitt's house . James and Jessica stayed up till they both fell asleep right next to each other.

That morning they were woken by James' mother telling them to get dressed and ready to go.

"James?" Jessica asked as they were eating breakfast "I hope I will never forget you even when I have new friends!"

"Jess I know that you won't because you and I are best friends!" James said with a smile.

"Time to go." Liz said.

"I am ready!" both James and Jess said in unison. They hugged and laughed. When they got to Jessica's house they ran inside. They were both surprised to see that their little siblings were up already.

"Hi," Jessica's mother said with a smile, "are you ready to start packing the moving truck?"

"I guess," Jess and James said in unison glumly. When they had finished paking the moving truck, James and Jessica had a slice of pizza and went to bed. The next afternoon James and Jess hugged and said see you next week.

The next week James and his whole family all came over to the Everitt's house.

"We will miss you all!!!!" Liz said to the whole Everitt samily.

"We will miss you too!!!" Muria (Jessica's Mother) said. All of them hugged and were not very happy to have to say good-bye.

" James, don't forget to write me. Ok?" Jess said struggling not to cry.

"Ok, Jess I wont and dont forget to call me ok? James said sadly.

"Ok!" Jessica said to James and they went inside for dinner. After dinner everyone in Jessica's family got in to the car to drive to the airport, except Jessica's dad who got in the moving truck to drive it across the contry.

"Good-bye!" all the Kellys yelled to the Everitts as they drove away. Jessica and James remebered to call and write to eachother every week, and they still do to this day.
